Although I didn't really talk to Laura, I relied on her so much. I am a 16 year old that has some form of inflammatory arthritis, my mother has Still's Disease. As many of you can understand, friends and family simply do not understand. Laura was a person that had made it through such a tough journey through childhood, adolescence and adult hood living with such a horrible disease, as has my mother, and to some degree myself. She was always a person I admired, looked up to and reached out to for support, when no one in my life would offer empathy and understanding. Laura was a pillar of the rheumy community and will be sadly missed by not only myself, but every single person who she met or interacted with. Thoughts and prayers are with Matt, her family, friends and anyone who was touched by this wonderful, courageous and inspiring woman.
