Laura's Legacy

Created by chroniccurve 11 years ago
Laura was the first person I connected with after my own diagnosis of Still's Disease about two years ago. Her blog helped me through my initial diagnosis process and our connection turned into a supportive friendship-- one that I am honored to have had. She was a pillar of strength and support for me and many other patient advocates and bloggers throughout the community. Because of the time difference (her in the UK, me in Florida), she often happened to be around during my hours of pain-induced insomnia and vice-versa; we'd chat away through the night. I don't believe I was ever able to tell her how much those conversations or her friendship meant to me. Always there with a kind word, encouragement, laughs, and definitely quite a bit of commiserating; I'm not sure Laura knew just how special she was to our Still's Disease community either. However short her time here may have been, she changed the lives of others all over the world. I am honored to have been touched by her incredibly legacy. Laura, we will continue to raise awareness and fight for better funding, better treatments, a cure in honor of you and your fighting spirit. I hope wherever you are, Laura, you are without the burden of Still’s Disease, prednisone and pain, and those damn blood gasses you hated so much. I hope you can bake without pain! I hope you are reunited with your beloved dog! And I hope you're crafting and cross stitching without a flare holding you back from doing what you love. Thank you for being a light in my life and in the lives of so many others. I miss and love you so very much. Sending love to Matt, family, and friends, Emily Bradley Chronic Curve
